Dear all,
I tried to see the effect of the grain_size _friction on the results of nonuniform sediments modelling. However, there is no difference has been illustrated. When I try to add the tage roughness_factor, a warning for tag 'roughness_factor': The value for tag 'roughness_factor' will not be used as tag 'grain_size_friction' != 'on' is shown. The only avaliable grain_size_friction option is 'yes' in the block. By the way I am using V2.6.

Dear Wei,
I can't reproduce your problem. If I set 'grain_size_friction' = 'no' (Note: NO not ON), I get the following warning:
The value for tag 'roughness_factor' will not be used as tag 'grain_size_friction' != 'yes'
Best regards, Lukas

Hi, Lukas.
I pasted the warning image on the web warning from basement when using grain_size_friction. Hope it works.
Best wishes!

Dear Wei, cant see the image. Just copy paste the exact warning.

Hi Lukas,
"Warning for tag 'roughness_factor': The value for tag 'roughness_factor' will not be used as tag 'grain_size_friction' != 'on'", This is the exact warning infomation. Maybe you and your colleagues have fixed it. However, if you download and install the .exe file v2.6 from the website you may reproduce the warning infomation.

Wei

Dear Wei
Using v2.6 I get a slightly different warning:
Warning for tag 'roughness_factor': The value for tag 'roughness_factor' will not be used as tag 'grain_size_friction' != 'yes'.
Therefore, the behaviour is correct.
Best regards, Lukas

Dear Lukas,
I have tried to model same case with and without grain_size_friction function by choosing 'yes' and 'no'. There is no difference for all variables such as stage, velocity and bed composition. So, I do not think the function work. Maybe it is fixed in the new version. By the way, when will the new verison be released?
Best wishes!
