Hello sir ,
hope you are doing well . now i have a confusion about regarding calculation of the channel length ,
i am pretty much doing the same as you posted your 1D river coupling test case . that test case is simple mine is a little complex .
i have two two inlet one in eastern side and one is western side . calculating the channel length is OK but when i reached in the middle of the model i got confuse
should i calculate the middle channels from eastern side and western side . Does this even matter to calculate the channel lengths from inlet A or inlet B ?
if matters what is the rule to calculate the lengths .

for example in such situation
there are two inflows
the distance between cross-section to cross-section will increase from B to A or A to B for such channel ?
hope this explains my problem clearly
