Modeling rainfall in Basement v4 (HPC or MD?)

Hello everyone,

I am new to BASEMENT and also new to this forum, so please excuse me if this is a basic question.

I would like to model rainfall in BASEMENT v4 and I am wondering whether this can also be done with BASEMD.

From what I understand, rainfall is defined using the SOURCE functionality and assigned to specific regions. However, I have only been able to find this workflow for BASEHPC. In BASEMD, I cannot find where these regions are defined or assigned.

My reason for asking is that I would prefer to use BASEMD if possible. As far as I understand, BASEHPC uses stepped triangles, whereas I would like to work with inclined triangles to represent the terrain surface as accurately as possible. My main interest is not only the flow within the river channel itself, but also the overland flow paths across the surrounding terrain.

Is rainfall modeling available in BASEMD as well? If so, how are the rainfall regions defined and assigned?

Thank you very much for your help and for taking the time to answer my question. I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance.

Best regards
Elli
