I am currently working on a cascading dam failure simulation in a steep mountain gully using BASEMENT v4.2 (BASEHPC module). I contacted the development team regarding the trigger mechanisms for internal boundaries, and they kindly suggested I consult the forum.
The Issue:
According to the Reference Manual for BASEHPC (Section 1.1.4.3), it is stated that for dynamic_wall_internal:
"The wall conditions are applied on the internal boundary until reaching a threshold value (time or water depth) after which the wall is removed."
However, in the GUI (Graphical User Interface), when I select the dynamic_wall_internal type, I can only find the collapse_time parameter (which is a time-based trigger). There is no visible option to set a water depth threshold.
My Question:
Is there a way to implement the water depth trigger by manually editing the model.json file?
If this is possible, could someone provide the correct JSON syntax? For example, should I use tags like "trigger_variable": "water_depth" and "trigger_value": 15.0?
Supporting Information:
Software Version: v4.2.0 (Windows)
Module: BASEHPC
Thank you in advance for your support!
Best regards,
Yukuner

Hi
I think the feature you requested is not implemented yet.
You find it in the manual, but -if I am not mistaken- at the Users Meeting on last January 29th, the development team told the users that the feature has been implemented, and that it will be made available soon.
Cheers
Matteo
