BASEMENT v4.2 Error: Cannot open file for 'continue' simulation

Hi,

I am experiencing an error with a restart simulation in BASEMENT v4.2 and hope you can help.

I am trying to use the output of a hydrodynamic simulation as the initial condition for a subsequent morphological simulation.

Here is my workflow:

Simulation 1 (Hydrodynamic): I run a simulation using a hydrograph and a "dry" initial condition. This simulation completes successfully and generates an output file .dat (WSE).

Simulation 2 (Morphological): I set up a new simulation using the output from the first run.

I set the initial condition to "continue".

I upload the output file from Simulation 1.

I set the correct initial time to "0".

The Problem: When I run this in BASEMENT v4.2, it fails and gives an error stating it "cannot open the file".

This is strange because it is the exact output file generated by the previous simulation, and I have already confirmed it is saved in the correct folder.

I tried the exact same setup (same parameters, same files) in BASEMENT v2.8, and it works perfectly without any errors.

This suggests there might be an issue specific to how V4.2 handles this "continue" process for morphological simulations.

Is there any known problem with the .dat file extension in V4.2?

Thank you for your time.
