Limiting area between adjacent triangles

Hi,

I am quite new to BaseMESH, currently using the QGIS-plugin to develop first drafts of triangle meshes for an ocean model (FVCOM) and further refining them with SMS. One of the mesh-quality criteria for my model is that the area variation between adjacent triangles should not be more than a twofold (i.e. 0.5 reduction). Is there any way to limit this in BaseMESH? the meshes I manage to generate violate this limit quite a lot, specially near the solid wall (coastline). I am wondering if there's some kind of extra flag for this I have not seen.

Thanks in advance for your help.
