Transverse components of velocities.

I would like to use the BASEMENT software in my tesis and need to obtain values of transverse components of velocities (uy) in a certain profile. I defined a cross-section and obtained a .dat file, however, I could only choose an average velocity (u) as a cs_output. Is there any way to obtain the components of velocities in a defined profile of the region? I will highly appreciate any answer!

Re: Transverse components of velocities.

Hi Anna

Which domain are you using: BASECHAIN_1D or BASEPLANE_2D?

Hi Matthias,

I am using BASEPLANE_2D.

Re: Transverse components of velocities.

Hi Anna
I think the easiest way is to use output type element_centered and with "velocity" and compute the averaged ux and uy over the boundary from the boundary elements during the post-processing.
Best regards
Matthias
