basemesh might be slower

Dear Base-community
is it just me, or since the last update basemesh has become slower?
Since basemesh 2.x, generating a mesh has been incredibly fast.
Lately, the "Reading break lines..." phase takes for ever.
I tested this with both QGIS 3.28 and 3.34.
Have anyone noticed the same behavior?
Cheers

PS: there's also something wrong with the info (see this video)

EDIT: it might be due to very complex breaklines, with several vertices. A request: it might be useful to give more info regarding the duplicated vertices that are merged and so on. I would like to know where those are, for example.
