Smart&Jaeggi formula factor

Hi all,

I am trying to perform a simuation with bedload in Basement 3.1

when using the transport equation of Smart and Jäggi, i should give a "factor"
is "factor" = alpha as it is described in the reference manual: alpha = 4, theta_crit = 0.05, meaning "factor" should be = 4
OR
should i set factor = 1 if i wish to use "one time" the smart&jäggi formula, which is already containing alpha=4 ?

thank you!

Re: Smart&Jaeggi formula factor

Hi Ingrid,

as far as I understand by the software and the manual, the "alpha" is referred to as "coefficient", while factor is defined as you define it in your second option.

Please, take a look at the tutorial part in BASEMENT Manual (page 11) and look how the MPM-formula parameters are defined.

Best
Matteo
